The Cal-SCHLS system has provided valuable data to federal, state, and local education agencies in their efforts to understand and improve education in California. Data from the three Cal-SCHLS surveys — the California Healthy Kids Survey, the California School Climate Survey, and the California School Parent Survey — have been used in a variety of statewide projects as an important tool to provide key data elements in reducing learning barriers, enhancing student academic achievement, and meeting the needs of students in different ethnic groups, special education, migrant education, and military families. Click on the links to the left to learn more about how Cal-SCHLS has been used to help promote healthier, safer schools and communities and improve academic achievement.
